So I’m into 3dTuning.

This is how Meepster would look (except with the Sport fwd bumper and some LED foglamps) if my wife wouldn’t stab me for spending thousands more on the Jeep:

Note the dark red interior...

We got ours for $19,300. Sticker was around 23. 1.4t sport with mid-level stereo, mysky, and steelies.

Ideally I need that fancy stereo, heated seats, and Solar Yellow paint.

If only the Trailhawk was available with enough pedals

Next year after graduating college when I’m making real-person money I would really consider a Renegade Trailhawk to replace my 2nd Gen 4Runner as my DD/Adventure vehicle combo. Lots of toys for 26 grand and a 14 MPG daily really hurts. Realistically the Trailhawk would be more than sufficient for the forest service roads I like to explore, even if I lose the manly “real truck” feel. I just don’t think I could pull the trigger on an auto.

I’ll probably just end up reuniting my E36 Compact and it’s 30 mpg(sitting in my parent’s garage across the country) with the Runner and maybe get a Fiesta ST or similar down the road. Shame, FCA could have my money if they wanted it.

When my wife’s econobox is paid off in the middle of next year I will have clearance to get a new car. It will probably be a Pilot replacement (A Ridgeline would be nice) or an E46 replacement (GTI or Fusion Sport I think). We’ll see if Mazda can get a 6 with balls for sale in the US by then.

I would consider one of these if I didn't despise the segment. Maybe I'll get one if my girlfriend decides she does indeed like the thought of marriage. Then I would buy her this and drive myself some wagon.

We have the 1.4t/6m fwd sport with the MySky roof. I like driving it but I would like to get an old truck and have my wife drive this.

I mean if it was me I would hold on to the E46 over any of the listed alternatives. But also a utility vehicle is a utility vehicle, I have no real plans to replace the 4Runner until it’s driven into the ground. Unless I have a good opportunity at a series 100 Landcruiser. Small lift and some aggressive tires and it’ll do everything the 4Runner does but better.

Really? It’s got over 180k miles on it, and I really miss having a manual transmission. Plus I don’t think it will baby very well, and being a coupe means it’s not practical for driving more than my wife and I around. I don’t like taking the Pilot out when it’s just three people (it seats 7). I don’t think she will let me keep the E46 and get a sedan, so the next car is either it’s replacement, or a replacement for the Pilot, which is nice but just a Pilot.

I kind of assumed it was a manual, that changes things. At that point a GTI or something makes sense.

I'll probably end up with some old truck and the SO having the nice car. She hates the thought of me buying her something nice and not getting it on her own though.
